Question: I have Bellafill® in my cheeks and Belotero® in my smile lines. I am happy with my Ultherapy® results from a year ago and want to maintain with Infini™. Are Infini treatments safe when done over the same areas I’ve had Bellafill® and Belotero?
Answer: It is important to know which cosmetic procedures should and should not be done in overlapping facial areas. Because Ultherapy can interfere with fillers such as Sculptra®, hyaluronic acids and Radiesse®, the sequence of these procedures is key.
Compared to Ultherapy, which is micro-focused ultrasound, Infini is a tissue-targeted, micro-needle, radio-frequency technology. The Infini tends not to interfere with the results of most fillers injected in similar treatment areas. Thus, timing of Infini with filler treatments is less of a concern.
Bellafill® is one unique injectable filler that can be used almost anytime prior to or after either Infini or Ultherapy. Bellafill® does not interfere with the results of these “laser” treatments since the filling and volumization that one gets from Bellafill® comes from stimulation of one’s own collagen. Unlike Bellafill®, Radiesse and hyaluronic acid fillers do not stimulate collagen in the same way and filling is mostly from the injected foreign material.
Careful consultation with a Board-certified facial plastic surgeon who is knowledged on surgical facial anatomy and the most safe and effective combination of various “laser” devices and injectable fillers is the first step in assessing your facial rejuvenation needs.
