Question: I had the Ulthera non-surgical facelift 7 months ago and had very good results with tightening of both my jowls and neck. I want to go on a maintenance regimen before my face starts to sag again. How soon can i repeat an Ulthera treatment?
Answer: The collagen and elastin stimulation induced by Ultherapy can continue for up to 9 months after a single Ulthera treatment even though the results of Ultherapy can last as long as two years. Once this initial collagen regeneration phase has passed, re-evaluation for maintenance Ulthera treatments as soon as once a year should be considered.
It is important to realize that while Ulthera is a very safe, non-invasive micro-facelift that can lift sagging neck and jowl tissues, improper use of Ulthera, like any device, can give substandard results. For this reason, it is better to start maintenance treatments 12 months after the initial treatment, once most of the collagen regeneration phase is complete. Performing Ulthera treatments more frequently than at one year intervals may result in deeper penetration with fat and volume loss in the face.
An Ultherapy maintenance regimen should be tailored to your individual goals and unique soft tissues. A thorough consultation with a skilled facial plastic surgeon is the first step.
