Question: With the many collagen stimulating devices out there like Ultherapy, Infini and Dermapen, how can one know the right option?
Answer: There are many products on the market that stimulate collagen. Some are effective whereas others are not. Of the ones that do work, it comes down to selecting the most effective collagen stimulator.
Dermapen is a device, that while effective, often requires at least 12 treatments or more for significant results in aged skin. It’s a good choice in your mid thirties to early forties to refresh the skin. In comparison, Ulthera and Infini stimulate collagen, within a single treatment, to a much greater degree than Dermapen. Whereas, full face Ultherapy can create about 10,000 coagulation zones, which can also be thought of collagen stimulation sites, Infini is thought to give about 50,000 coagulation zones or 5 times more. The higher density of coagulation zones combined with Infini’s wider range of power, time and depth levels make it a superior device to Ultherapy. Infini’s highly customizable settings allow treatment of a wider range of aging concerns including lax or sagging skin, wrinkles, fine lines, uneven skin texture, large pores, surgical or traumatic scars, acne scars and much more.
As far which device to choose, it depends on your age, degree of sagging, presence of wrinkles and poor skin texture. Very mild cases may get results from multiple Dermapen treatments. For more than mild skin aging, Ultherapy or Infini may be of greater benefit. If you have both wrinkles and skin laxity, Infini may be the most effective option due to its broader range of treatment indications.
Careful consultation with a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon who is knowledgeable in skilled in the various treatments is the first step towards identifying the most suitable rejuvenation options.
