Question: I want a long lasting filler but the longer acting ones seem much more expensive than Restylane or Radiesse. How can I justify paying the high cost of long term fillers?
Answer: It’s really a question of whether you want to rent or own your filler. While the upfront costs of long term fillers like Bellafill® are higher than temporary fillers, Bellafill® is an investment in your future.
Think in terms of the value of renting vs. owning a home. In renting, you may pay, for example, $2,500 a month. Over five years, you lose that money when you move out of the home. On the other hand, to own a home, you made a large initial down payment along with a monthly installment, part of which goes towards the investment in your home. In 10 years, selling the home could get you most or all of your money back that was invested.
Similarly, temporary products like Restylane are “rented” as they must be repeated every 3 to 12 months and have no investment value. The benefit of Bellafill® is that you own it by making a larger initial payment to achieve full correction. Since most of the Bellafill® does not go away, smaller maintenance treatments are often 5 years later and used to treat additional aging and not for replacing previously injected Bellafill®.
Careful consultation with your Facial Plastic Surgeon to assess your individual needs in terms of the type of filler most suitable for you is the first step.
