Question: I have very hollow temples. My girlfriend had Radiesse™ injected into her face by a plastic surgeon but now has lumps. Since my skin is so thin, which filler is least likely to give me lumps?
Answer: Bellafill® is one of the most effective injectable fillers for treatment of hollow temples. It can have the following benefits when used to treat the temple:
• More adequate filling of the temple
• A smoother appearance to tissues
• Less chance of lumpiness
• Can be used under thinning skin
• Eyes appear more open
• Lifts droopy outer brow
• Widens narrow eyes
• More refreshed, awakened look
• Softens a bony and gaunt eye socket
Like any treatment, seeking an experienced injector who thoroughly understands the surgical anatomy of the temple area is key. Several important structures in the temple area should be identified and avoided prior to injectable therapy.
Your surgeon should also be comfortable with more superficial placement of Bellafill®. Because of its smooth, more uniform and flowing composition, Bellafill® can be injected more superficially in the temple with less chance of unevenness or visible lumps, compared to other fillers.
I use an important technique to optimize the results in the temple. Prior to injection, the injection cannula is first inserted under the temple skin to create and widen an injection pathway. Next, the Bellafill® is injected throughout the pathway.
Careful consultation with a qualified Facial Plastic Surgeon who has a high volume Bellafill® practice is the first step in determining if you are a candidate for temple rejuvenation with Bellafill®.
