Question: I have some sagging in my lower face and jowls and don’t want a facelift or any kind of significant surgery. I read in your last article that doing minimal invasive procedures in combination can work. Are there any rejuvenation treatments that would help my sagging tissues without surgery?
Answer: You are not alone in your concerns about surgery. One of the most popular minimal invasive treatments in my office is the Infini RF. While I commonly use it for non-surgical skin tightening and lifting, patients also benefit from the simultaneous improvement Infini has on fine lines and aged skin texture.
One of the keys to Infini RF’s success in my practice – and I perform an average 3 to 7 Infini treatments per week – is application skill. It is not uncommon for plastic surgery practices to hire “lower level” personnel to perform their laser and non-surgical treatments. While a non-physician can be trained to use the Infini, a higher skill level can make a significant impact on the quality of the results.
After doing Infini for a few years, I added PRP as a part of a combination treatment. PRP, also known as protein-rich plasma, can signal stem cells to make more collagen. Since the controlled heat from Infini stimulates the skin to produce more collagen as well, the Infini RF/ PRP combo can give an enhanced effect that’s more like “1 + 1 equals 3 instead of 2.” That’s the power of combination rejuvenation therapy.
If you also have facial volume loss, adding a volumization filler such as Bellafill, Voluma or Sculptra can further enhance the effects of your facial rejuvenation.
Seeking a Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon who not only specializes in the face, but also has extensive experience in both surgery and minimal invasive treatments, is the first step in optimizing your facial rejuvenation needs.
