Question: I had an Bellafill® treatment two days for hollows cheeks. I’m interested in the non-surgical Ultherapy micro-facelift to lift sag in my face and neck. How long should I wait for the Bellafill® to settle before I start the Ulthera treatment?
Answer: When Temporary fillers like Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse or Sculptra are placed into the same areas as Ulthera, Ultherapy is performed first, followed by filler treatments days to weeks later. This approach reduces the chances of deactivating fillers from the heat emitted from Ulthera. However, when filler is used in facial areas that do not overlap with Ulthera- treated areas, no waiting period is needed between procedures.
Bellafill® differs from temporary fillers in that it can safely be performed before or after an overlapping Ulthera treatment area. In my practice, Ulthera and Bellafill® are typically performed at least one day before or after Ultherapy. This approach is advised for patient convenience rather than safety concerns.
Combining Ulthera with Bellafill® can give long lasting results without surgery. Ultherapy can lift and tighten sagging tissues in the neck and face. On the other hand, Bellafill® can fill hollow areas, depressions and lines. Together, they can give you a rejuvenated yet natural looking appearance without surgery.
Careful consultation with your Facial Plastic Surgeon to determine if you are a candidate for Bellafill® and Ulthera is the first step.
